So, back to the gym last night. I wanted to go earlier but a problem with the car delayed me. So I ended up leaving the house at 2200, returning at about 2300. The smart watch reveals the results. I am burning about 1000 calories a day more, since I started at the gym. Its not just the work at the gym, its the walk there and back also.
Another issue came to light last night when I decided it was time to investigate the scales. Bad news, I am nearly a stone too heavy. Okay, here’s a problem. We Brits seem to still use the imperial Stone / Pounds / Ounces. The watch wants pounds alone. The Gym wants Kilos.
| Units | Fat Dave’s weight |
| Stone | 12′ 0.7″ |
| Pounds | 168.7 |
| Kilos | 76.5 |
So, where I want to be is –
| Units | About right Dave’s weight |
| Stone | 11′ 0″ |
| Pounds | 154 |
| Kilos | 69.8 |
So 70Kg is my target.
This the result of last nights efforts.
| Machine | Initial Load | Initial Reps | Current Load | Current Reps |
| Cross Trainer | 7 | 100 Calories | 10 | 140 Calories |
| Low Row | 30 | 15 | 35 | 25 |
| Shoulder Press | 10 | 10 | 20 | 10 * |
| Lateral Pull Down | 4 | 10 | – | – |
| Chest Press | 20 | 10 | 25 | 10 |
* Shoulder Press set to 20 was hard work for me. I managed 10 but I couldn’t have managed 11, it was that close. This is one I want to work on but I will hold these weight until it gets easier.
The Low Row is the one that the Osteopath wants me to concentrate on and I am pleased with the progress here. I am not at my drive limit yet.
The Chest Press setting was at the limit as well, again I want to work in this.
