Gym 2021

I’ve not posted about the Gym for a very long time, like the 10th March 2020, just before my world was thrown into chaos. However I have been back, several times. According to my records I started back on the 28th April. Crickey was it that far back that Gyms were allowed to operate again? Of course there was still a risk of COVID but the Gym was very well prepared with plenty of space and bottles of disinfectant spray a plenty.

So to prove I’ve kept at it, here is a list of my dates of attendance so far –

What you are seeing here is purely on the cross-trainer. There are a couple of notes to add.

30th of June I had to go and see Sam for damage control on my back. 18th and 19th were too much and had caused issues, which Sam helped put right.

There is a break of July, August and September. The reason is that I had got the eBike up together and was going out on rides on that. I didn’t record these exercises too well but I was getting plenty of exercise.

There is a story about the last entry. I had been slowly increasing my total calorie burn and for the 8th November I was going to target 400 calories. I take the headphones and play music off the phone. This evening it was “The best of Def Leppard”. I started with Track 1 and got going. I decided I would keep at it until “Rock of Ages” had finished. What I hadn’t realised was that “Rock of Ages” is track 15 on a 17 track album. So by the time I reached this goal I was already in the 600 calorie band. The next track was “Hysteria”, which is another great track and I had to listen to that. Then there was just “Bringin’ on the heartache” and the album was done. As the last track faded out I passed 730 calories, so I then lowered the load from 20 to 10 and used the last 20 calories as a cool down. I did know about that session but I was fine the next day.

    1. Yes, well I was until Omicron appeared. While I have to say that my gym went beyond the call of duty to keep everyone safe, it is clear that Omicron is a lot more capable a predator. As a result I haven’t been for about a month. I am going walking when I can to compensate.
