The set back with the floor has now been rectified. I bought about 30 M2 of Chopped, Stranded Mat (CSM) Fibreglass, and using plenty of resin I have relayed the floor. This time it is “Spotty Dog”!

With the final layer of glass in and the seat bolt positions opened up, the job looked much better.

So the next stage should be applying the top coat. This is where I ran into a new problem. Top coat is a resin based product, and like resin, is sold by weight. i bought 1 KG, which came in a tin, but it isn’t a “Tin full”. In fact it is half a tine full, which isn’t enough. So I have to order another tin to have enough for this installation. It has to be laid in one go.
So, instead, I removed the old Eagle depth finder and fitted the Garmin Chart plotter / Sonar.

There was a slightly interesting problem with the transducer. Typically the holes of the old transducer did not suit the new one, so I had to drill the transom, upon which it started leaking water. Message to Melvyn on this one as this is not good news! However, once the leak stopped I fitted the transducer anyway.

This project is getting very close to its first run!
