An on going problem has been with the engines cooling pump. I had bought a refurbishment kit, dropped the gear case off to access the pump, refitted it, re-fitted the gear case and tested it. No water flow, not a drop.
So I had to strip out the gear case again and examine the refurbished pump. I found the problem was the key to secures the impeller to the driveshaft wasn’t doing its job. Fortunately I had a replacement and this did it. Loads of water flow, cooling is not a problem anymore.
The engine runs well but does knock a fair bit. Is this a problem in the power head? I hope not.
