A bad day

So, yesterday, as in Wednesday 29th, I went to the gym. Parts of me were saying this was a bad idea. I had a slight sore throat and I was beginning to feel feverish. I went anyway as I figured I might get warmed up and drive through it. How wrong was I?

Trying out the theory on the cross trainer for a warm up, as usual. What was not usual was I selected just 50 calories to burn. I reasoned that as I warmed up I would feel better and I would push up the calorie target. In reality that 50 calories couldn’t come too soon.

ExerciseLevelReps
Cross trainer1250 calories – 6:15
Leg press90 Kg10 reps
Leg press100 Kg10 reps
Leg press80 Kg15 reps
Assisted pull up50 Kg (25 Kg)3 sets of 10 reps
Triceps extension50 Kg (25 Kg)3 sets of 10 reps
Low row45 set2 sets of 10 reps

So a shorter time on the cross trainer. Not sure about 100 Kg on the Leg press, did 90 Kg, seemed okay, so did 100 Kg, not good, so down to 80 Kg and kept going until it hurt.

Then onto the Assisted pull up machine, which had been moved but it took me too long to figure this out. Increased assistance to 50 Kg so I was pulling 25 Kg. Did all the reps but didn’t feel great for it.

Finally onto the Low Row machine. Again reduced to 45. Did 10 reps, seemed hard. Did another 10 reps. Couldn’t find the energy for the third set. That was it, clearly my body need to rest.

Including the walk to and from the gym I burnt 362 Calories in 1 hour and 7 minutes. I was glad to get home. Once there I had a bath and went to bed. About to turn out the light and got a massive cramp in my right hand calf muscle. Bejesus I nearly climbed the wall! Teaches me to stretch afterwards.
